Art

In an effort to avoid homework, I watched a BuzzFeed video in which people compared artwork and estimated the value of the pieces.

The general consensus was that the uglier the art, the higher the price.

But it made me wonder what really makes a piece of art valuable.

My most valuable piece of art is a poster board that all my Sunday school students signed their names on (incorrectly, I mean they’re only four-years-old) and drew me little pictures.

If you were to hand me a Picasso, I’d sell it to the highest bidder. As for my cardboard poster covered in scribbles, it would remain in my private collection.

Sure the Picasso would have the higher measurable profit, but my flimsy poster is priceless in sentiment.

Sincerely,

Alexa Wallace
