Using new plays and having new changes this year have played a positive impact towards the team this season which have lead to a 4-2 record so far this year; it is 4-3 including the game on August.
The team is off to a good start this season because of changes in offensive and defensive lineup.
The team is on a 4-game winning streak, beating Laguna Hills High (37-23) and Segerstrom High (28-7). The team will be facing Northwood at the homecoming game and it will be a battle of the woods that will determine who will come out on top.
“It is a big game; you guys are all out there watching us, you guys are supporting us, and we just want that W,” senior linebacker Josh Ortiz said.
This year, they have acquired new additions to its roster this season. New players sophomore Karstn Graves and junior Jalen Gill had an impact not only at games but also during after school practices by working hard. Both players have been playing a key role during games by playing well on defense and are making sure that they give their all on every play.
“(Graves) is always at practice; he is always giving it his all,” Ortiz said. “(Gill), that’s a junior that is really good; he’s always giving it 100 percent.”
The team is now 1-0 in league and is hoping to be 2-0 in the league after the game against Northwood. The team is hoping to keep up their hard work. They are very motivated this season to go far and are aiming high this year.
“We’re 4-2 now; we will see what the future will bring,” coach Rick Gibson said.
