On December 13,2024 Woodbridge high students played in their winter band concert and showed what they have been working on throughout the whole year. Everyone came to see this years holiday concert and the band did not disappoint.
The students worked very hard to make sure that the concert went perfectly. The band kids have been working on this throughout the entire year. French horn player James Yardley said, “Everybody puts in a lot of hard work.” In the end, it’s all worth it.
Families and other students love going to the concerts because the songs are so well done and they love seeing their friends perform on the stage. The band students love being around their friends and providing a fun experience for the community.
“I think. . .entertaining the audience is going to make them so happy,” said flute player Sonia Kalantarian.
Before the concert there are many nervous faces all around the room, students are stressing and worrying because they want this concert to go perfectly. When the lights turn on and the students start playing, they forget the worry, the stress, the nerves.
The concert goes smoothly and the audience cheers and the students exit the stage, feeling proud of themselves for what they have accomplished.
The songs played represented the feeling of love and joy which created smiles across everyone’s faces. Some of the songs that were played include “Fantasia in G” and “Sleigh Ride”. These songs created a magical environment and added that holiday spark into the air.
At the end of the concert, the band kids hang out with one another. “After you can. . .celebrate with your friends,” said flute player Eliana Chen. These students have created a community together and celebrate the success of the beautiful band concert.
The winter concert is so much fun and in later years Woodbridge High hopes to see more and more students join the program and build an even bigger community. Hope to see you at the next band concert!
