“I think that I’m a very creative person, and I do a lot of things to express myself in ways that are different than other people. And I used to not like that about myself, but I think that I’m kinda embracing a sense of uniqueness now that I used to be ashamed of, and I also think that being creative is one of the most important things in life. I think people view being creative as something that has to be artistic or has to be about music or writing, but you can be creative in anything. Like math could be creative in the way that you solve a problem, or like, anything can be creative.
I just think having a sense of creativity, and I guess… wonder is really important, I also think that I’m pretty resilient. I’ve done a lot of things that I really didn’t wanna do, but I knew I had to do them for myself. And I’ve gotten through them as smooth as I can and tried my best through everything that I’ve been through. And I think there were a lot of times where I could’ve given up, and I havent and I’m very proud of myself for that, and for like, holding myself together through times where I felt like I couldn’t.
And, one more thing is that… I think that.. Hm. This is a hard question. I think that I’m empathetic, and I think that I’m good at understanding people’s emotions and not being judgemental towards them, and helping others get through hard times, especially if I can relate to their experience and help them if they need support and understanding where other people are coming from. Even if someone is doing something that negatively impacts me, I can still try and understand where they’re coming from… in a sense? So I think that’s a pretty good quality.
I want to be a therapist, specifically an LMFT, licensed marriage and family therapist. I think that therapy is creative. I think that finding, or exploring how other people navigate problems and how other people’s brain’s work to help them in their lives requires creative solutions and requires creative thinking. I want to help people but I also think that art therapy is really helpful, and I would love to be a licensed art therapist too if I find the time to get that schooling done. I think that creativity goes hand in hand with people’s emotions, and finding the answers to problems in people’s lives.”- Lulu Galipeau
