DIY: go far with this inspiration jar
Instead of spending the new year constantly trying to fix yourself through new resolutions, create a mason jar full of your best 2015 memories. By the end of the year, the mason jar will be filled with the greatest memories, achievements and events from the year, making reflection on the past year both fun and personalized.
Items needed:
- 1 16 oz. mason jar
- 1 pack of colorful post-it notes
- 1 chalkboard sticker
- 1 piece of white chalk
Optional:
- 1 spray paint of any color
- 1 bottle of mod podge
- 1 bottle of glitter (a similar color to the spray paint)
Instructions:
- Wash the jar and let it dry completely (Optional: Take off the lid and spray paint the outside of the jar and the lid. Wait for it to dry, cover the bottom third of the jar with mod podge and cover the mod podge area with glitter. When that dries, cover the glittered area with mod podge again to seal it.)
- Take the chalkboard sticker and place it on the middle to upper half of the jar. Write “Best Memories of 2015” on the sticker with chalk.
- Throughout the year, whenever a good event happens, write it down on one Post-it note, fold it up once and place it in the jar. At the end of the year, empty the contents of the jar and read through the accumulation of your own favorite memories of the year.
