DIY: Earthy tissue box holder
As Earth day approaches on April 22, let us make a tissue box holder using recycled materials.
Materials:
– Pen
– Ruler
– Knife
– Scissors
– Glue stick
– Packing tape
– Paint
– Paint brushes
– Mod Podge
– Foam brush
– Cardboard
Directions:
- Measure and cut out two pieces of rectangular cardboard, three and three-quarter inches by nine and one-half inches. Measure and cut another two pieces of rectangular cardboard, three and three-quarter inches by five inches.
- Â Cut out the shape of a whale tail from a piece of cardboard. Cut out a 2 inches long slit at the end of the tail and a similar slit in the center of one of the smaller cardboard pieces. Make sure the tail slides snugly into the rectangle. Â
- Â Glue the four rectangular pieces together along the long edges to create the sides of your tissue box holder. Then, slide the whale tale in and tape it down.
- Â Measure the top of your creation and cut out another rectangular piece of cardboard to place on top. Cut out a rectangle where your tissues usually come out.
- 5. Â Paint your box green in consideration of Earth Day. Â Then, give it a couple of coats of Mod Podge to protect your paint job.
