First Impressions
As college decisions season has ended I can’t wait to embark on the next chapter of my life and start with a blank slate. But, as I scroll through the Facebook Class of 2021 groups for colleges, I begin to feel nervous. I just see new faces of people and on top of that I have to choose people from this page to be roommates be for the rest of next year. Although many people always against it, I felt myself resorting to seeing people’s appearances and social media profiles, all superficial descriptions of people to judge what people seemed the best to spend my first year in college with. Soon, however, I realized that this technique didn’t seem to reliable as I talked to people who I thought seemed nice but often displayed qualities I didn’t always desire in my best friends. So, even after this process, I guess I’m still learning how to stop myself from judging people by their first impressions.
