Get’cha Head in the Game
It has been over ten years since I watched “High School Musical” for the first time. Despite having “Get’cha Head in the Game” stuck in my head at least once a week, the message has yet to sink in. Senior year feels like I was thrown into an East High musical number with absolutely no preparation; everyone else knows the choreography and I just stand in the back trying to mimic as much as possible. Every month I tell myself it will get easier, I just need college applications to be over, or first semester, or once I receive an admissions decision, and now I tell myself everything will slow down after AP tests. The thing is life is never going to slow down for me. If I keep procrastinating on enjoying my senior year it will be over before I know it. So I’m calling a time-out so I can listen to the music (and maybe even learn to dance). Now, all I have left to do is learn to play basketball while singing.
Wish me luck,
Alexa Wallace
