Lasting Memories of a Sunnier Day
Senior Sunrise marked the beginning of the school year as well as the first senior tradition of the year. For those that may not be aware, Senior Sunrise is an event in which the senior class meets the morning of the first day of school and gathers in order to watch the sunrise together as a class.
Watching this sunrise at Suicide Hill was meant to inspire the seniors to get more involved, display school spirit and create lasting memories. For senior Daniel Lomboy, the event was successful in doing so.
“I think that this event is one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences out of the rest of the senior traditions,” stated Lomboy.
But interestingly enough, the reasons that the seniors so enjoyed this experience were two very different reasons. For some, like senior Advaith Rai, watching the sunrise itself was the most rewarding part of the experience.
“The experience was pretty fun and I think watching the sunrise was the most enjoyable part of the event,” said Rai.
But for others, the memories of that time focus on afterwards. For senior Jonathan Moon, the best part of the event was afterwards.
“I just remember how much fun I had spending time with my friends before school started. I normally wouldn’t be up that early but spending that time with them was worth it,” stated Moon.
