Karina Osbourn, Freshman
“This is our opportunity to rehash the trauma of the Vietnam war and what we covered up because it was such a horrible war. This happened and we need to recognize it happened. My grandfather served in the Vietnam war and he never really talks about it and I’ve always wanted to know how he thought about it. So maybe seeing me play this he’ll feel open enough to discuss it with me. When I got the costume on and just did my lines over the microphone it so easily brought me to tears. My character is an intelligence officer so I’m really high ranking but because I am a black female my character is demeaned, constantly. My character is really hard willed but this is her breaking down and that was really easy to understand,” freshman Karina Osbourn said.
