According to Campbell Academic Technology Services “86% of students use AI in their studies.” What types of ways do AI help students?
Students use AI mainly to help them with writing assignments, research, and studying, so how does AI give the information so that students can understand it easily?
“.. AI is kind of nice to give you a perspective when you’re trying to learn about something or to get an answer to something. It helps break it down to your cognitive level,” head of technology Chris Riddell said.
Here are some other ways AI could help people in school and the reason why people are using AI to help with work and studying. Many students use AI for a little extra help.
“I use AI daily. A lot of classmates and peers use AI as well. We usually use it for AI to grade our papers, to learn things that we don’t remember or understand, basically a substitute of a teacher, or like a little extra helper, kind of like an elf,” freshman Caleb Cowan said.
Other way AI could help students according to Campbell Academic Technology Services is creating first drafts which help to “generate initial drafts of essays, reports, and other written
assignments, providing a starting point for their own writing and editing process.”
Not all students use AI all the time but only when it’s necessary. “I use AI sometimes but not all the time… I mainly use AI to help me study,” sophomore Yashas Santosh said.
For example some people use chatGPT and other AI to help them come up with ideas, understand a subject or lesson, and get a new point of view on any matters.
“I would say, like, it’s given me a lot of ideas for assignments, like in middle school. If I wouldn’t, like, understand something, I would like ask chatGPT, their opinion, and get that and try to come up with my own. I felt like it’s like a little helper, like trying to make sure that I improve and make sure I thrive in my school, and I see a lot of teachers and classmates also doing this as well. So I would say AIs has impact a lot of people’s daily lives, and during the years, I think it might have a very large impact on the humanity. And yeah,” Cowan said.
